Dancing Before the Lord

Sunday, the family and I attended the I Do Care church in Shenandoah again.  I am really enjoying their worship time and I actually stood up and took a banner and worshiped with the banner.  Of course, Melanie as always was out in the floor just whipping the banner around and worshiping God.  After I did one song I sat down and started to sing and praise.  I noticed this lady up on the stage just flipping the banner all around and dancing in time with the music.  It so fascinated me and I started thinking about King David coming into Jerusalem dancing before the Lord.

1 Samuel 6:14  "And David danced before the Lord with all his might: and David was girded with a linen ephod."

Watching her dance just made me realize that the worship and the praise before the Lord is so amazing and each of us are blessed with the heart of worship and we worship in different ways.  Some shout out, some dance, some raise their hands and close their eyes, some sing, do sign language and play and instrument.  But worship is far more than that, breathing, sleeping, laughing, loving, encouraging etc is also forms of worship. It is awesome to sit back and watch and I am so blessed to be a part of it.

Saying Good bye to one of the fallen

Last week we said goodbye to James Skalberg who served our country. He was only 24 years old and left a young wife and little girl.  While waiting for his return the town was plastered with flags. It was amazing and I was so touched by the overwelming patriotism of all the flags. Our small town was surrounded by veterans who ride motorcycles and protestors. But honestly, I will never forget this summer, it has been the most memorable one in a long time.

Baxter

This is Baxter,  he used to be Micah's cat.  Before the funeral Luke talked to Micah's brother Andrew and asked who was taking the cats.  Andrew told us Lizzy was going to Bryan and Deb, but little Baxter did not have a home.  So Luke decided to take him, so on the day of the funeral we brought Baxter home.  He is a very unique cat, he tore the box that we brought him home in and was shoving his head out of it.  Then he leaped out of the box in the house and took it over.  He owns the house, dogs and other cats, it is priceless.  But what is so priceless is the love he has for Luke, he sits in Luke's lap when Luke is working on the computer or sorting his cards.  He follows Luke around and pines for Luke when he walks out the door.  It is amazing how a small animal can bring healing and laughter all at the same time.  I love his sad little eyes and his meow is priceless.

My Dearest Micah

I would like to tell you about a dear friend of ours,  his name is Micah and he left us last Saturday to be with Jesus.  He touched our lives and I do not believe I will ever be the same, he will be dearly missed.  His grandfather Keith calls him a Star fish, a lost child that was rescued by dear people and yet if you ask Micah he will deny ever being rescued.  He in turned loved all of  us and gave us the rescue.  He was an intense reader and he was very knowledgeable about everything.  I went on his face book page and he put me down as his step mother, I love that.  I have to tell ya, our son Luke has taken it so much harder then all of us, they were dear friends. We went to his funeral yesterday and as we left, we realized that we missed him more than we realized, it will take time. I wish that everyone knew this young man, he was so unique and loving.  But, I am also realizing that I will see him again.  I know in my heart that Micah is in Heaven and that I will see him again.  We love you Micah and you will never be forgotten.
